Using retrieval practice and the power of flashcards, this project aims to bring evidence-based teaching and learning strategies to classrooms across Europe.

Our plan focuses on practicality and effectiveness:

• Creation of a comprehensive guide con vídeos y pautas de aplicación real basada en la más reciente evidencia científica.
• Practical training for teachers. Nuestro objetivo es que se integren las flashcards en el día a día del aula.
• Implementation of pilot activities.
• Development of practical resources such as high-quality examples and templates for various subjects.
• Dissemination: Events, publications, newsletters, social media, etc.

The training sessions and pilot projects of the FLASH-RET project, conducted at our partner schools, are now behind us!

These sessions aimed to promote active learning by integrating evidence-based teaching strategies into the classroom. Teachers learned to use technologies such as Quizlet to create interactive flashcards that address various dimensions of knowledge, and to incorporate techniques like spaced and interleaved repetition to enhance student knowledge retention. The training also highlighted methods for using flashcards at home and helping students develop self-regulated learning skills.

We take this opportunity to share with you the materials used in the two training sessions, in case you would like to use them in your educational institutions:

• Presentation of the first training session in Spanish
• Presentation of the second training session in Spanish
• Template to create your own physical flashcards
• Presentation of the first training session in English
• Presentation of the second training session in English

Between each training session, attendees were encouraged to test what they had learned and to begin using flashcards in their classes with all students. The results of the pilot tests have been positive, and all teachers have observed an increase in student motivation and engagement. The project continues to gather feedback on students and other outcomes to support the effective use of flashcards in teaching.

Estamos muy felices de anunciar la publicación oficial del manual sobre el uso de flashcards en el aula, desarrollado dentro del proyecto de FLASH-RET. Este manual es una guía teórico-práctica muy completa para que los docentes tengan las herramientas más efectivas y con mayor evidencia científica sobre cómo integrar las flashcards en el aula para aumentar la participación, la retención de conocimientos y el aprendizaje de los alumnos.

Este manual abarca una amplia gama de temas: introducción al funcionamiento de la memoria en el aprendizaje, la práctica de la evocación en el uso de flashcards, beneficios, creación de ejercicios efectivos con flashcards y su adaptación para distintos grupos de edad y asignaturas, etc. Ya seas un profesor experimentado o nuevo en esta técnica, el manual ofrece conocimientos valiosos y consejos prácticos para ayudarte a mejorar tus habilidades en el aula.

Este manual está disponible en todos los idiomas de los socios (inglés, español, polaco y rumano), lo que lo hace accesible para docentes de distintas regiones. Al adaptar estos recursos a diferentes idiomas, el proyecto FLASH-RET busca apoyar a los docentes en ofrecer una experiencia de aprendizaje más personalizada y eficaz.

¡Nuestro proyecto llega a su fin!

¡Qué rápido pasa el tiempo! Tras 16 meses de trabajo, aprendizaje y colaboración, nos complace compartir los resultados del proyecto FLASH-RET. Esta iniciativa Erasmus+ unió a Asociación Aprendizaje Activo (España), el Colegio Técnico Gheorghe Asachi (Rumanía) y la Escuela Internacional de Lodz (Polonia) para explorar e implementar el uso efectivo de las flashcards como estrategia dentro de la práctica de la evocación.

La práctica de la evocación es una estrategia de aprendizaje basada en la evidencia que implica recordar activamente información. Este enfoque mejora la retención de conocimientos, el pensamiento crítico y el rendimiento académico. Con FLASH-RET, buscamos integrar esta estrategia en las aulas de toda Europa.

El Camino de FLASH-RET

El proyecto comenzó con el desarrollo de un manual completo que combina teoría y práctica. Este recurso incluye guías paso a paso, estrategias de inclusión y ejemplos concretos para que los docentes puedan utilizar las flashcards de forma efectiva. Gracias a las aportaciones de profesores y expertos, el manual responde a diversas necesidades educativas. Puedes descargarlo AQUÍ.

A continuación, organizamos sesiones de formación docente en Rumanía y Polonia. Estas sesiones brindaron herramientas prácticas a los profesores de estos centros educativos para incorporar las flashcards en sus clases. Los docentes también participaron en la evaluación de la primera versión del manual, asegurando que se ajustara a las necesidades reales del aula. La tercera fase se centró en proyectos piloto con profesores, donde los docentes aplicaron las técnicas de práctica de la evocación con las flashcards. Esta experiencia práctica permitió perfeccionar las estrategias basándonos en las opiniones de profesores y alumnos. Además, se crearon dos videos inspiradores que muestran casos de éxito en el uso de estas técnicas. Puedes verlos AQUÍ. Todos los profesores y estudiantes que estuvieron involucrados en estas experiencias quedaron súper contentos después de conocer todas las maneras en las que podían utilizar las flashcards para mejorar el aprendizaje.

Finalmente, en los últimos meses hemos desarrollado materiales de alta calidad, incluyendo plantillas editables y sets de flashcards listos para ser usados. Teníamos muchas ganas de por fin presentar estos recursos que están diseñados para diferentes edades, asignaturas y estudiantes con distintas necesidades, garantizando inclusividad y versatilidad. El Poder de la Colaboración Europea

Queríamos hacer mención especial a uno de los aspectos más gratificantes de FLASH-RET: la colaboración entre los socios. Compartir conocimientos y adaptar estrategias en distintos países no solo ha enriquecido los recursos del proyecto y ampliado su impacto, sino que también ha enriquecido mucho a todas las personas que hemos trabajado en él. Este trabajo transnacional refleja el espíritu de Erasmus+ y destaca la importancia de unir esfuerzos para mejorar la educación.

Esperamos que estos recursos inspiren a docentes y estudiantes a adoptar el uso de flashcards y la práctica de la evocación. Agradecemos profundamente a Erasmus+ por financiar esta iniciativa y a todos los involucrados por su entusiasmo, experiencia y compromiso.
